It’s no wonder credit unions are spending to update technologies that support Internet banking, card and ATM processing, mortgage servicing and information management systems. These ancillary systems are typically what differentiate credit unions in their marketplaces. When’s the last time you reviewed yours? Here are some tips for going about it.

My CUES Technology Edge articles typically address the core processing market and the merry band of vendors that serve the larger credit union market. With Fiserv crowning their latest “go-forward product” in Acumen, and Harland soon to enter the market with Phoenix EFE, there is certainly enough spark in the market to keep core systems selection interesting.

However, we at Cornerstone Advisors are working with an inordinate number of credit unions seeking advice on ancillary systems. More than ever, credit unions are formally reviewing their options for the big time ones:

  • Internet banking – which often includes Internet banking, bill-pay, mobile banking and sometimes personal financial management
