Three candidates, all incumbents, have been nominated for the three open seats on the CUES Board of Directors:
- Immediate Past Chairman and Director Carla Altepeter, CCE, president/CEO of $336 million CitizensFirst Credit Union, Oshkosh, Wis.;
- Secretary Teresa Y. Freeborn, president/CEO of $799 million Xceed Financial Credit Union, El Segundo, Calif.; and
- Director Robert Ramirez, CCE, CEO of $1 billion Vantage West Credit Union, Tucson, Ariz.
If any CUES member wishes to add his or her name to the ballot, a petition with signatures of at least 35 voting CUES members must be submitted by July 12. If no nominations by petition are submitted, the incumbents will be elected by acclamation. If any nominations by petition are received, they will be added to the electronic ballot (paper ballots available on request).
Newly elected directors take office following CUES' annual business meeting, to be held in conjunction with CEO/Executive Team Network 2010, Nov. 7-10 in Dallas.
The 2010 nominating committee includes CUES board members Carol A. Humenick, CCE, committee chairman and SVP/community and government affairs for $1.4 billion Citadel Federal Credit Union, Thorndale, Pa., and Frederick D. Healey, committee vice chairman and president/CEO of $692 million Workers’ Credit Union, Fitchburg, Mass.
At-large nominating committee members are Debra Gallagher, president/CEO of $232 million Capital Credit Union, Bismarck, N.D.; Charles A. Rutan, president/CEO of $185 million Southwest Airlines Federal Credit Union, Dallas; and Barbara Stephens, president/CEO of $30 million Houston Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union, Houston, Ga.
Tom Swierzy, president/CEO of $490 million SB1 Federal Credit Union, Philadelphia, and Joyce Dye, senior vice president at $2.6 billion Redstone Federal Credit Union, Huntsville, Ala., are at-large nominating committee alternates.
